Default How long can one solo w/ hero's?

I got my tail kicked at the boss fight in the second mission of nigthfall (by Apocrypha). Can't seem to bring it down on my own.

Is it viable to still use a hero treos down the road, or is it going to drop off to more group action?

I'd like to answer your question but I have a hard time understanding what it is...you can easily do most (if not all) of the missions in nightfall with just heroes and hechies....the 2nd mission you are talking about is VERY doable with heroes---now what level they are makes a difference as well (eg a level 2 koss will have problems with it as will any level 2 character) and it depends on what skills you have given your heroes---what have you unlocked for them to use etc.
No idea if this answered your question...but if it didnt please restate it..

For normal mode, all missions can be done with masters easily with heroes and hench party once you learn more about he mission. The same for most hard mode missions, although some I would recommend at least 1 other person.

Well for what ever reason, I got raped. Mob was 13, I was 11 and the npcs are 10, so that may be part of the problem. I'll probably check out how to spec the heros a bit more, probably missing something important.

It depends a bit on the player. Some people have been able to do the whole main storyline with just themselves and hero/hench, others have found they need to team up with others.

You may just need to level up a bit more, or try to figure out how to stop the damage he is doing to your party (interrupts or protection or other defense skills) or try to figure out how to do more damage than you and your heroes are now, or both.

Yeah, you'll never be forced to group if you don't want to, as long as your heroes are the proper level, have the necessary skills, and you know what you have to do in a given mission almost every single mission is easy to do as well as get masters, even the very late and last few missions.Though if you ever need a hand, feel free to pm me in game or here

Saying 'You and 3 heroes' could mean anything. Make sure they're running something decent and you shouldn't have to much trouble. It's possible to do every mission in HM with just heroes and henchmen (without consumables), you just have to be good enough.

Yes you can run heros/hench through all of Nightfall, but the difficulty does increase and its a good bet unless you have a tonne of skills unlocked for every profession as well as a good build for yourself and your heros you will most likely need some live people to help you on some missions.

Keep in mind that party size increases to 8 but your still limited to only 3 heros per live player in any party.

I did all of Nightfall with just H/H. All of them masters.

It's doable. You just need to try different things to do some of them.

I got Legendary Vanquisher using just HH for probably 80% of areas, others could have been HH but some guildies joined for their own title hunts.

Only two missions stick out in my mind where live people are very very useful, Jennur's Hoarde (sp?) in NF and Heart of Shiverpeaks in EoTN.

Since you seem to be pretty new ar the game, here are a few tips:

-Always bring a monk with you

-Make you monk hero a pure monk, no minions, no pets, no gimmick. Some energy manegement skill can be use but that about it.

-Apply the no gimmick rule to all your heroes as well as yourself. Getting good at warrior mean using warriors skills; so no pets, no minions, NO METEOR SHOWER!!!.

-Always leave your heroe's skill bar showing. This way you will know what they are doing wrong/right.

-Find a helpfull guild and dont be affraid to leave if you feel you dont get at least some answers to your questions in guild chat. Most of the time all you'll need to get master on a mission is a few good tips.

-Dont get run. yeah, its fun getting ppl doing stuff for you, but just remember, while you re doing nothing THEY are the one getting better at the game.

-Take your time. Rush in from group to group will only get you killed. The rest of your team (heroes) need time to build up energy back.

I know this is pretty basic stuff but if i would have knowed that on my first day in GW i would have failed less.
Good luck and if you need help Just PM me in game.

Edit: read Guru ALOT!!!

Like others have stated yes it can, what I haven't seen mentioned, actually two things, is
1) Not only the skills of your heros need to be proper, but also the weapons.
2) Although more for later, mid to end game, is to rune your Heros also, you won't fight without the +1 attribute to your main ability, so why expect less of your Heros? Get them the best you can afford, even if it's one here, one there, eventually getting them fully Runed will make a difference in the end.

Note: Runes placed on heros can be salvaged, then placed on another hero. Not sure about double runes, but you could get a set of radiant and re-apply to another hero later if gold is tight.

As previous posts have said..

learn as you go and as at a low level just now ..have you always took blessings from shrines in every area as it raises your standing in sunspear rank and you get another 15 points to add to your char

have you any other campaigns ?

if not then as posts have said get a few hero skills for your heros in Sunspear Great Hall also ..make dunkoro a full heal char at moment as you will get Takora later who will be a potect monk.....

you can adjust there skills as you progress in the game

This may sound a litle simplistic to some but , your post was not broad enough for a in depth help

If you feel you may need a little help along the way use my IGN..my chars name and can help you if you so wish..no strings attached

Just like to help guys out early in game if they seek a little help

Pfft. It's actually doable to do most Prophecies/Factions with only henchmen, no heros (Prophecies with bonus, Factions can be a bit harder on the time). Of course you'll die some few times, though. On the other side, is easy to do all NM missions with Master's (except The Eternal Grove maybe) with only H/H and no need to die at all.

In the earlier stages of the game, do as many quests as you can to level up quickly. After that, it's about pimping up your heros. And learn to pull, too.

The henchman and to a greater extent the heroes are only as good as you are. So how far you can go with them is entirely up to you.

I have cleared everything that allows a full H/H party in normal mode and a great deal of hard mode stuff. However I've seen screens of people doing things with henchman that I couldn't do with a full party of heroes. I beat both Prophecies and Factions with Henchman so I know those are quite doable even without heroes.

I suggest you find a four man team build you want to run. You then unlock those skills needed for your heroes and properly rune/equip them. It really doesn't take much, the largest expense is normally in vigor runes and you don't really need them. Weapons/offhands are OK to use drops just try and get as close as you can to "perfect" - by the time you are at end game and need those things you should either have found them or can afford them.

You can look to http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page for both team and individual builds (including ones specifically for heroes). For easy unlocks see http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/The_Team_Trials and http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Zaishen_Challenge
